Join Our Team: Ministry Assistant
At First Baptist, we prioritize Christ’s mission by gathering to honor the Father, living as disciples of the Son, and resting in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. We are looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Ministry Assistant to help facilitate the daily life and "behind the scenes" logistics of our church. The Role
The Ministry Assistant serves as a vital link in the chain of our daily operations. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who finds professional satisfaction in the "grindstone" work of keeping the gears turning so that the ministry can flourish. This role has the opportunity to have fingers in multiple areas—from communications and finance to hosting, Bible study, and benevolence ministries. Position Details
  • Hours: 29 hours per week.
  • Compensation: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience).
  • Benefits:
    • 3 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO).
    • Phone Allowance.
  • Flexibility: We understand the demands of family life and are happy to offer flexibility with kids' school and activity schedules.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Logistical Support: Execute the administrative and logistical needs of various ministries with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordination: Assist in the planning of events and ministry.
Secondary Areas of EmphasisWhile the core of this role focuses on the essential "behind the scenes" logistics of FBC, we want to empower our staff to lead from their strengths. We are looking for a candidate who can excel in one or two of the following areas:
  • Financial Stewardship: Assisting with bookkeeping, budgets, and financial reporting.
  • Visual Communications: Graphic design for social media, print materials, and weekend services.
  • Relational Ministry: Coordinating hosting for events or assisting with Ministry initiatives.
  • The "Unknown" Gift: Do you have a talent we haven't listed? Whether it's database management, event planning, or tech support, we are eager to see how your unique gifts can serve the church.
Desired Qualifications
  • Detail-Oriented: A natural "systems person" who catches the small things and enjoys bringing order to complex schedules or budgets.
  • Availability: While we offer weekday flexibility, preference is given to candidates willing to be on-site during our primary gathering times on Sundays and Wednesdays. These hours will be paid and included in the 29-hour weekly total.
  • Versatility: Ability to transition between administrative tasks, financial tracking, and relational hosting with ease.
